This obituary for her was sent to me by Cris Reed of the Morgan County, OGS. Note the mention of her step-daughter Jane Petet. This is certainly the wife of Alva Petet, who was possibly a nephew of Lovey's (see p. 23, July 1988). Porterville is in Perry County just across the county line from Morgan County. Aged Ninety-Nine Mrs. Lovey Hearing Nearly Reached the Century Mark from the Morgan County Democrat, Friday, 1 November 1907 Mrs. Lovey Hearing, widow of David Hearing of Porterville, passed away Thursday morning. She was in her 99th year. The deceased has been a resident of Porterville for the past seventy five years and has always been admired and respected by all who have known her. There are left to mourn the death of their parents, nine children. They are Thomas, Valentine and William Appleman, Mrs. Margaret Rogers, Mrs. J.L. Haines, Mrs. C.M. Laughlin and Lewis and Harold Hearing. Besides these there are several step- children, among whom are C.F. Hearing and Mrs. Jane Petet of Zanesville. The funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon from the Zion Church at Porterville at 1 o'clock. The interment was made in the Zion Cemetery.
